Lady Gaga Covers the January 2010 Issue of 944 Magazine

The fabulous Lady Gaga covers the January 2010 issue of 944 Magazine.

The international pop star looks absolutely stuuning in a white lace dress designed by her very own Haus of Gaga design team. For those of you who don't know, Lady Gaga actually has her very own fashion design team. Her team of designers are able to capture Gaga's innovative concepts and turn them into some of the most bizzare, yet breat taking piece.

Here are a couple of quotes from the 944 Magazine interview from Editor in Chief Martine Bury:

"Lady Gaga has liberated music and fashion the way David Bowie and
other Brit Glam rockers did in the seventies--using costume, artifice
and drama while bending gender norms and conventions. But she also one
ups everyone with her phenomenal vocal talent and truly unique
aesthetic. Her music choices are far from predictable-- they're a
mash up of futuristic pop styles. What a breath of fresh air!

"For our Vanguard issue she was the only choice for the cover--the
most fitting artist of our time. She's way ahead of her time and the
only universal artist to truly break ground and provoke thought since
Madonna."

If you're a real fashion addict, you are watching Lady Gaga closely and appreciating her taste in fashion.

For you viewing pleasure, here are a few photos from the 944 magazine shoot:

Give Your Nails Some Dazzle-Try Glitter To Intensify Your Nails

How To Use Glitter to Give Your Nails Some Edge

Greetings my fellow fashionistas and beauty-holics. It's Winter, and everyone is going bolder with their nails. While this is the perfect time to try to your darker hues, such as your deep purples, greens, and gothic blacks; glitter can work wonders on your nails as well. Take a look at what a great glitter nail polish did for my usually dull nails:

It's easy to get this glitter nails look, and you don't even have to go to a salon to get this look.

Here's how to rock this look:

1. Get a bottle of Sally Hansen® Hard As Nails® Xtreme Wear® nail polish. You must choose the glitter polish (The color I used is Rockstar Pink).

2. Before you apply the Sally Hansen® polish, apply one coat of clear nail polish to each nail.

3. After the first coat of clear nail polish dries, apply two healthy coats of the Sally Hansen® nail polish.

4. Let the 2 coats of glitter polish dry, and then apply a final coat of clear nail polish to each nail.

5. Let the clear coat dry, and rock them like a diva!

You can get a bottle of this great glitter nail polish for under $5 at just about any local drug store. I think this polish is among the best for the glitter look, and you won't even need to use a base color before you apply the glitter polish to your nails.

Have fun!

Fall/Winter Chic: Stay Fabulous and Warm in Capes and Cloaks

Monday, November 16, 2009

In the world of fashion, no season is more fashionable, chic, trendy, edgy, or fabulous as the fall/winter seasons. During New York Fashion Week for fall 2009, the fashion industry’s top designers have trickled the runways with so many bold colors and shapes, it makes it difficult to only pick out a few seasonal trends. For fashionistas who find their wardrobes limited in the cooler months of fall, there is no longer any need to sacrifice great style to colder weather. Fabulous little garments called capes and cloaks keep the cooler months stylish.

The Cape

One of the most notorious capes in fashion is the long lived (and now very dead) poncho. Capes are sleeveless outer garments that were originally popular every day wear in medieval Europe. The garments usually open from the front and have slits for the arms as there are no sleeves. Big shiny and stylish buttons usually decorate the front of the cape, with some capes toting fashionable zippers to add a modern twist to the historical outer garment. Capes can come in a variety of styles and looks, while most present a more sophisticated look perfect for day and evening wear.

The Cloak

Cloaks are very similar to capes. The only difference between the two outerwear garments is length. Cloaks tend to be much longer than capes. Most cloaks will stop around the mid-calf area, but the longer pieces are notoriously known for stopping at the ankles. These longer cloaks will be an extremely hot fashion trend in the winter months to come, as many fashion lovers will opt to replace their coats with longer cloaks. It is not unlikely to find a beautiful tweed ankle length cloak, with an attached hood. Hoods are one of the most distinctive features of the cloak. The fashion forward crowd will rock hooded cloaks this winter, and easily be among the most stylish.

How to Rock the Cape

Similar to the once very popular ponchos, capes look great with your best pair of skinny jeans. If you want to dress up your cape, a nice pair of slacks will add the twist that you are looking for. Skirts also look great with capes that come with jeweled brooches and will work well for workplace wear. Expect to see the tights addicts to pair trendy tights with edgier gothic style capes. It might sound like fashion suicide, but it can be a very hot look with the right combination.

How to Rock the Cloak

You cannot go wrong with pairing your favorite pair of skinny jeans with a stylish cloak. Just like the capes, cloaks also look great with skirts. For those seeking a more professional look, skirts and slacks will be the best option. Boots are perfect for longer cloaks, with thigh high boots ranking in as the best way to add a little sophisticated sexy to just about any cloak.

Now that you know that capes and cloaks will be amongst the hottest trends of the fall, you probably want to know where you can find them cheap. Popular stores such as Forever 21, Wetseal, Charlotte Rouse, Express, and New York & Company should be at the top of your list for finding the new addition to your fall must haves without breaking bank. Major department stores such as Belk, Macy’s, and Dillard’s should also have cloaks from very accomplished and well known designers.

Rather you like the gothic look of leather cloaks, the sophisticated look of brooched capes, or just want to be amongst the most fashionable and trendy this season; do not let this season slip away without adding a cape, cloak, or both to your closet. Stay fashionable!

Made Up of The Good Stuff: Christian Siriano Fashion Week Spring 2010

Christian Siriano Fashion Week Spring 2010 Sneak Peek

Photobucket

As if his last Spring collection wasn't enough, the very talented Christian Siriano debuted his Spring 2010 collection at New York Fashion Week.

The Christian Siriano Fashion Week Spring 2010 collection is full of more bolder and brighter colors than his previous Spring collection. His last collection was full of grays and occasional splashes of bright oranges and greens, but this time Siriano's Spring collection screams intensity.

By the looks of Christian Sirano's Spring 2010 collection, the fashion designer has grown up...a lot. And this newer and more mature Christian Siriano is beyond fierce...he is genius. Some might even say, the new Marc Jacobs.

Christian Siriano proves once again that talent on the runway always speaks louder than a name. His growth is astonishing and unlike many fashion designers before him, it didn't take him years in the public to get it right.

Prominent colors of Christian Siriano's Spring 2010 collection include shocking blues, passionate reds, and spicy oranges. And it would be fashionable of me to note that there are a lot of beautiful big dresses, fancy ruffles, and chic uses of glamorous hats.

It's safe to say that the Christian Siriano Spring 2010 Collection was a sure hit at New York Fashion Week.
