Fall Must Haves: The Season's Most Fabulous Accessories

Monday, September 20, 2010

Fall is right around the corner, and with every new season comes new trends. Now ever true fashionista knows that trends don't necessarily necessitate what we do with our wardrobes, but they are great guides in continuing fabulous style. While there may be many accessories that could add a little sizzle to just about any outfit, here are some of my recommendations.

Gold Leaf Necklaces

What better way to show your love of fall than with a gold leaf necklace? Now gold jewelry is classic and will clearly never go out of style, so when selecting accessories, it doesn't hurt to pick up a few gold pieces. Gold leaf necklaces made a splash during New York Fashion Week Fall 2010 at the hands of fabulous fashion designer Jason Wu, so it's safe to say they would make a stylish addition to your fall wardrobe.

Here are a few of my favorites:
Allison Daniel

Robyn Rhodes

Animal Print

Expect animal print to be huge this fall season, with jewelry being essential to just about any accessory stash. Statement pieces such as chunky necklaces and earrings will be popular amongst fashionistas everywhere. Animal print handbags will make a fabulous addition to your bag collection as well.

Here are my picks:

J. Renee

Isharya

Glamorous Cocktail Rings

Rings will never go out of style, but the type of ring you decide to wear could very well be the touch of glamour your outfit needs. Cocktail rings will never go out of style, as floral clustered rings will be popular amongst fashionistas this season.

Here are my picks:

Juicy Couture

Alexis Bittar

If you like any of these picks, you can find most of them on Shop Style or ShopNBC.

Things I Love: Ethreal Wedding Dresses

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

When it comes to wedding fashion, trends will continue to come and go, and brides will have a diversity of styles to select from, while searching for the perfect wedding dress. In a new age of fashion, traditional is no longer essential in bridal gowns. Brides are forsaking white gowns for alternative shades such as blacks and reds; but that doesn't mean that traditional won't work for even the most daring of fashionistas. I'm not too big on traditional wedding dresses, but I must admit that ethreal wedding dresses are some of the most captivating dresses I've ever seen. For many reasons, this style of bridal gowns will continue to be among the most popular, since it combines fairy tale with classic style.

White House | Black Market

These dresses are usually a favorite for soon to be brides looking to create a romantic themed wedding, equipped with their Prince Charmings and lavish details.

To get the most out of this look, dramatic statement jewelry is essential. Chunky and jeweled necklaces work best with these types of gowns.

This style also remains perfect for outdoor weddings, as brides are able to resemble angelic beauties, with flow fitting pieces. Expect to pay a pretty penny for this style of dress, and don't be afraid to step outside of tradition when choosing colors.

Wedding Fashion: Who Said Bridesmaid Dresses Can't Be Stylish?

It's wedding season, and if you're anything like me, you'll have dozens of weddings to attend. While many will just be a stylish attendee, some of us have been given the one title we dread our whole single gal lives: bridesmaid. Now there was a point of time in fashion when bridesmaid dresses were obnoxious, painful to wear, and a blended massacre of hideous hues and designer faux pas, but in today's fashion, bridesmaids are only a few stitches away from being just as fabulous as brides. Of course that's good news for all you single gals who aren't willing to become victims to the fashion police for the sake of a wedding you'd skip all together if you weren't best gal pals with the bride.

Here's some of my favorite and most gorgeous bridesmaid dresses.

Adrianna Papell Strapless Taffeta Peplum Dress

I just adore this bridesmaid dress because it just exudes classic style and elegance. However, this particular style is similar to cocktail dresses, and allows bridesmaid to not only participate in the actual wedding, but be stylish enough for the social festivities later, without compromising fabulousness. The beautiful shade of blue give this dress the overall perfect touch that any fashionista can appreciate.

Suzi Chin Maggy Boutique Pleated Dupioni Party Dress

Classic and simple, this pleated bridesmaid dress also affords the stylish bridesmaid the perfect combination of wedding elegance and party. Not too heavy on the trendy side, the pleated skirt dress is still noteworthy on the style meter, since it's stylish enough for a fashionable bridesmaid, but not too glamorous to overtake the bride.

Calvin Klein Pleated Bodice Stretch Satin Sheath Dress

By far, the sexiest of my collection of favorite bridesmaid dresses, this Calvin Klein guilty pleasure offers the seductive side of femininity in dress form. Flirty yet special occasion appropriate, it's another dress that's stylish enough to survive the after wedding events. The deep shade of purple is to die for, and it's one bridesmaid dress that you surely won't regret later.

Adrianna Papell Dress, One Shoulder Tulip Gown

Similar to the ultra diverse in style Maxi dress, this one shoulder gown is proof that long dresses can be just as stylish and chic as shorter length dresses. This gown is as close as wedding will get to runway, and should compliment just about any figure, which makes it one of the most diverse bridesmaid dresses I've seen this season.

When selecting bridesmaid dresses, always stick to gowns that are prone to compliment just about any figure type. It's also best to select dresses that are radiant in color, but compliment the bride's gown, without forsaking great style.

Sex And The City Fashion Trends: Mikimoto Pearls

Monday, October 5, 2009

Who doesn't love a beautiful strand of gorgeous mikimoto pearls?

Sex And The City is the cult classic of fashionistas everywhere for many reasons. Of course we all love the fabulous fashion, but what we really love is the genius that is Ms. Carrie Bradshaw.

When it comes to fashion, yes all the ladies are fierce...but no one brings it like Carrie. Carrie just doesn't love fashion, she IS fashion. All the way down to her outrageous and risky choice in hats to her chic and bold choice in stilettos, to her ability to pull of outfits that you didn't think were possible. Even her use of accessories proves that thinking outside of the box makes one fabulous indeed. Mikimoto pearls are no exception to her formula.

Mikimoto pearls are simply captivating and look great with the layered look. Multiple strands of mikimoto pearls are bold and make a statement with just about any outfit.

Try this bold look and get edgy with a beautiful strand of mikimoto pearls.

Spring 2009 Wedding Trends: Bridesmaid Dresses

Thursday, June 18, 2009

It's that time of the season. Everyone knows someone who is getting married this summer, and while the bride will clearly be the star of the ceremony, the bridesmaids have to be just as chic for the occasion.

When it comes to bridal fashions and the hottest and most fabulous trends of the season, the runways have been filled with many blacks, pinks, blues, and sparkle to make the fashion addicts look at weddings in a whole new light.

Shorter is in, traditional is out, and white isn't the only color a bride would want to be caught dead in anymore.

So where does that leave all fashionable bridesmaids?

Wedding Fashion|Spring 2009 Wedding Trends

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

It’s spring and for many couples, it’s the perfect season to begin a new life together. Although love in itself is crucial for one to have their “happily ever after,” fashion still has its place in the festivities. Believe it or not, the bride’s dress can set the mood for the entire wedding. It is imperative to choose the right dress. Who doesn’t want to look fabulous while strutting it down the aisle?

Here’s a look at spring 2009 wedding trends.

1. A splash of color can add a little style.

One of the hottest spring 2009 wedding trends is color. Brides no longer have to take the traditional route with an all white or ivory gown, they can opt for light colors such as pinks, green, purples, metallic, and blues.

If you would rather have a more traditional look, you can simply add a splash of color by wearing a nice belt in any shade that you prefer. Colored gloves can also help you achieve this trend just as well.

2. Black dresses and accessories create a bold and intense appearance that looks fabulous.

3. Mini/Short skirt wedding dresses.

Shorter informal wedding dresses are great for brides who want to skip out on buying a reception dress or who plan to marry on an island with hotter weather conditions.

4. One-shoulder/asymetrical wedding dresses.

And showing a little shoulder will be very popular this wedding season.

Thigh High Boots|Look Mom, No pants!

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

I am a runway freak and I love seeing runway trends become street chic and all, but there are some trends I just can't instantly find space for in my already cluttered closet.

So everyone is talking about the thigh high boots and it is supposed to be the new it thing like Manolo Blahniks and Cosmopolitans became thanks to Sex and The City.

Fashion enthusiasts believe this will be one of Fall's hottest trends.

Before you scratch your head and say this is old news and that thigh-high boots have always been in, I'm talking about a different type of thigh high boot.

During Milan Fashion Week, it appears as if most of the Top designers such as Prada decided their models would strut down the runway in boots instead of pants.

And I'm not talking about sexy tight fitting thigh high boots that every fashionista probably already owns. I'm talking about more boot than you need, and too loose fitting for my stamp of approval.

These boots look like loose fitting thigh-high fishermen boots and I am not at all convinced that this is fashionable, even if this is Miuccia Prada.

What a dreadful trend. I hope I don't see anyone try to pull this mess off because if I see you, I am going to assume you are going fishing. Otherwise, you have just committed fashion suicide.

Leave the mess on the catwalk ladies.
