Gwen Stefani Brings Her L.A.M.B. To New York Fashion Week Spring 2010
In Fashion Designers, In Fashion ShowsFriday, September 11, 2009

Gwen Stefani debuted her new collection for her L.A.M.B. fashion line during New York Fashion Week Spring 2010.
If you read this blog regularly, then you should already know that I love Gwen Stefani's style. She comes off very natural with her fashion sense, and when it looks effortless, it just oozes fabulousness.
So I am excited to see Gwen Stefani at New York Fashion Week Spring 2010, and I know I can expect the punk rocker, funky and feminine, sweet and naughty fashion that I have come to love to come out in her L.A.M.B. fashion line.
Check it out:

Catwalk Showdown: ATL Housewives Debut Fashion Lines She By Sheree And Closet Freak
In Fashion Designers, In Fashion ShowsTuesday, September 8, 2009
It is finally here.
We were all hoping that it would never happen, we thought it was all simply some horrible joke, I mean who really took Sheree Whitfield's She by Sheree fashion line seriously when she couldn't even put together a decent showing of her line last season?
The catwalks are no longer safe.
Sheree Whitfield has finally given all the fashion addicts and non believers a glimpse of her new fashion line "She By Sheree." And it doesn't look bad at all, I can't even call it dreadful.
Take a look at She By Sheree's catwalk action and judge for yourself:

And of course the show couldn't end without designer Sheree Whitfield strutting down the catwalk herself:
Overall, I cannot say that I find her fashion line chic, trendy, or fabulous, but I did expect She By Sheree to be so much worse. Honestly, I expected Sheree Whitfield to debut a fashion disaster. And I can't say she did.
Is Sheree Whitfield's She By Sheree ready for Fashion Week? Absolutely not. As a fashion Designer, I hope Sheree Whitfield is just getting her feet wet with this fashion line and not showing us the best she can do.
Next up, Lisa Wu Hartwell's Closet Freaks fashion line...

You can already notice that Lisa Wu Hartwell prefers brighter colors in her Closet Freak fashion line, while Sheree prefers darker colors more appropriate to the Fall season.

Lisa Wu Hartwell's Closet Freak is a bit too clubbish for me. The entire fashion line looks like cheap club wear, and it doesn't do much for the trendy girl.
While She By Sheree isn't exactly couture, one can look at the collection and admit that with the right team, Sheree Whitfield could make this line real high fashion. It would take a lot of work but is definitely not impossible.
So who do I deem the winner of this Catwalk Showdown?

She By Sheree crushed Closet Freak on the catwalk.
While neither line is ready to be labeled high fashion, or appear in the glossy pages of fashion bible Vogue, Sheree Whitfield's fashion line actually has a chance being taken seriously in the future. Of course, Sheree would need to design a better collection and separate herself from the Reality Television stigma that kills careers before they even start, but Lisa's line is no where close to good fashion. Maybe next time Lisa.

Runway Fashion|Givenchy Sprinkles The Runway With Furs, Feathers, and Goat Hair For Fall 2009 Collection
In Editorials, In Fashion Designers, In Fashion ShowsMonday, March 9, 2009
Paris Fashion Week wasn't just another week of fashion shows for Riccardo Tisci, it was an opportunity to show the critics that despite his last collection which received negative reviews, he still has the ability to put together a collection worthy of praise.
Inspired by the 30's and 40's, the Givenchy Fall 2009 collection is glamorous, old Hollywood, and Gothic chic with the right mix of fashion forwardness.
Most of the Givenchy Fall 2009 collection features leather, feathers, furs, and even goat hair used in pieces in ways that one might not have quite expected. The designer also puts much emphasis on the shoulders.
The Givenchy Fall 2009 collection also features a balance between masculinity and femininity which makes it a bolder collection than the previous Givenchy Spring 2009 collection.
Feathers...

Furs...

Goat hair...

Leather...

While I don't love the goat hair look, I love the Gothic feel of this collection. Based off what I have seen from the runways regarding Fall collections, it seems as if the Gothic look will be a big deal in the Fall and Winter.

Runway Foolishness...The Fur Hat Monster
In Fashion Shows, In Fashion Suicide, In Hated It, In What The Hell?Friday, March 6, 2009
Who let this creature on the catwalk, and most importantly, on this poor model's head?

Answer: Mila Schon. While I'm not a big fan of fur, I do hope this wasn't real and that a skunk wasn't sacrificed for this foolishness at Milan Fashion Week.
HATED IT.
Propers to Ecorazzi for spotting this fashion disaster.

Celebrity Fashion|Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes, Kate Hudson At Milan Fashion Week
In Celebrities, In Fashion, In Fashion Shows, In PartiesWednesday, March 4, 2009
The stars were in full force at Milan Fashion Week, and some even strutted down the runway themselves in designer pieces.

Scarlett Johansson and fellow actress Freida Pinto walked the runway for D&G. Scarlett walked the catwalk in a silver gown, tight at the waist that looked very 50's. She changed into a figure hugging animal print gown after the D&G fashion show.

Kate Hudson made an appearance at the Extreme Beauty In Vogue party...

looking like a shiny candy wrapper. She wore this metallic jacket and skirt, and I must say...HATED IT.
And actress Eva Mendes opted for a red cocktail dress...

and brought extra chic to her ensemble by wearing a black waist belt.
Cute look.
Thigh High Boots|Look Mom, No pants!
In Fashion Shows, In Fashion Suicide, In Fashion Trends, In Hated ItTuesday, March 3, 2009
I am a runway freak and I love seeing runway trends become street chic and all, but there are some trends I just can't instantly find space for in my already cluttered closet.
So everyone is talking about the thigh high boots and it is supposed to be the new it thing like Manolo Blahniks and Cosmopolitans became thanks to Sex and The City.
Fashion enthusiasts believe this will be one of Fall's hottest trends.
Before you scratch your head and say this is old news and that thigh-high boots have always been in, I'm talking about a different type of thigh high boot.
During Milan Fashion Week, it appears as if most of the Top designers such as Prada decided their models would strut down the runway in boots instead of pants.
And I'm not talking about sexy tight fitting thigh high boots that every fashionista probably already owns. I'm talking about more boot than you need, and too loose fitting for my stamp of approval.

These boots look like loose fitting thigh-high fishermen boots and I am not at all convinced that this is fashionable, even if this is Miuccia Prada.

What a dreadful trend. I hope I don't see anyone try to pull this mess off because if I see you, I am going to assume you are going fishing. Otherwise, you have just committed fashion suicide.
Leave the mess on the catwalk ladies.

Fresh from gracing the cover of Vogue India, Freida Pinto looked fierce in a frilly mini-dress during a D&G fashion show during Milan Fashion Week. Freida shared the stage with fellow actresses Scarlett Johansson and Kate Hudson.
In related news, Freida Pinto is set to star in an upcoming Woody Allen film.

Supermodel Jourdan Dunn Is Hottest Model of London Fashion Week
In Fashion News, In Fashion Shows, In SupermodelsMonday, March 2, 2009

Supermodel Jourdan Dunn is a runway heavyweight. As a true Top Model (not those wannabes competing on Tyra Bank's hit show who rarely ever walk the runway after the series finale), she has worked with many prominent fashion designers such as Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Oscar de la Renta, and Caroline Herrera. She has stolen the hearts of runway seekers everywhere, and basically owns the glossy pages of Vogue magazine.
So it's no surprise to any of us who follow this Top Model's career that she probably worked more shows during London Fashion Week than any other model, and therefore very worthy of praise, propers, hell some damn respect.
During London Fashion Week, Jourdan Dunn walked the runway for fourteen designers, all fourteen shows were London's biggest.
She opened for Vivienne Westwood, closed for Sienna Miller's Twenty8Twelve collection, and closed and opened for Issa.
Check out pictures of Jourdan voguing it during London Fashion Week below...

D&G Fall 2009 RTW.

Moschino Cheap and Chic Fall 2009 RTW.

Issac Mizrahi Fall 2009 RTW.

Alessandro Dell'Acqua Fall 2009 RTW.

Alberta Ferretti Fall 2009 RTW.
Jourdan Dunn is a fierce chick indeed.
