Andre 3000, who is one of my absolutely favorite rappers from one of the greatest Hip Hop groups of all time, has been named as one of the finalists for GQ magazine's "Best New Menswear Designers In The World" annual contest that is held in conjunction with the CFDA.
Andre 3000 has his own bold and innovative fashion line entitled "Benjamin Bixby," and I have been hearing nothing but good things about the fashion line.
Andre 3000 is one of the six designers who were chosen as finalists for the contests. The other designers chosen were Robert Geller, Rogues Gallery, Save Khaki, Shipley & Halmos, and Yigal Azrouel.
Each finalists will be featured in the upcoming GQ February 2009 issue. A panel of industry experts, GQ editor-in-chief Jim Nelson, designer Thom Browne, and CFDA executive director Steven Kolb will select the winner.
Andre 3000 and the rest of the finalists are in the running to win $50,000 and the opportunity to create an exclusive and limited-edition collection with the Levi brand.
Each designer will present their Fall 2009 collections in New York on February 11, 2009.
