with rumors that the couple is now engaged. This all started when Rihanna was photographed sporting a pretty huge diamond ring after leaving a club on New Year's...

And then there's the infamous photos going around with Chris Brown and Rihanna spending Christmas together...

Rihanna and Chris have been together since 2007. And before I speak my piece, I do want to bring up a couple of things.

For one thing, when Rihanna first came out, she made it clear that Beyonce is her idol. In the industry, the comparisons between the two got out of hand, so Rihanna cut her hair off so she could start to stray away from Beyonce and become a big star in her own right.

With the short hair cut came the new fashion sense; Rihanna was not always a fashion queen. When she first came out, trust me when I say the fashion elite were not checking for her.

With new changes to her look, she has given Beyonce a run for her money,but Rihanna is smart and knows the road she must take to remain one of the biggest stars in the business. She and Chris have yet to confirm their relationship and their relationship is starting to look a lot Beyonce and Jay Z's relationship. They don't reveal the true nature of their relationship, and as a result, the press just loves them. You can't deny that Chris Brown is a bigger star now and it's not because of his talent. It is this relationship that has helped him become an international star like Rihanna has been since her last album.

So if Rihanna still idolizes Beyonce, don't expect her to confirm an engagement if the two are indeed engaged.

But I do find it interesting that I keep hearing that Chris Brown's mother has made it clear that she thinks the two are too young to get married. And I am also hearing that Chris asked Rihanna to spend Christmas with his family to make his mother feel more comfortable with their relationship, and that out of respect for his mother, the ring is only a promise ring.

I honestly don't think they're engaged and if they are, they are just way too young for marriage. If they don't slow it down, you can expect a pretty nasty split. If they are trying to follow the route that Beyonce and Jay Z have taken, I hope they take their time and date a few years before they start planning a secret wedding.
