We have all been hearing those pesky rumors about Kelly Rowland leaving long time manager, Matthew Knowles (Father of Beyonce Knowles) for years now. So it shouldn't shock you that I refused to post about it until I got an official statement from Kelly herself. Call me late if you want to, but I like to report accurate information. Gossip is way too messy for my taste.
Kelly Rowland has finally done what we all wanted her to do so badly.
Yes, she is dropping Matthew Knowles, and going after her dreams of super stardom. Rowland is a huge star in her own right in Europe, but outside of Destiny's Child, she has only been a moderate success here in the United States. That is a huge and nasty pill for Kelly Rowland to swallow, especially when her fellow band member Beyonce has achieved international success with the same management.
Rowland states that she will always be a part of the Knowles family, and the split is amicable.
Congrats to Kelly Rowland. She deserves management that will keep her best interests a priority.
