Rapper Lil' Kim And Voletta Wallace Still Spatting Over 'Notorious' Film

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Believe it or not, Lil' Kim and the Notorious B.I.G.'s mother Voletta Wallace are still exchanging sharp words over the "Notorious" movie that has been in theaters for a few weeks now.

Lil' Kim still feels that the film did not acurately portray her, and her character was "created" to create more drama in the film.

She states:

“The film studio and producers involved were more concerned about painting me as a 'character' to create a more interesting story line instead of a person with talent, self-respect and who was able to achieve her own career success through hard work.

Even though my relationship with Big was at times very difficult and complicated, it was also genuine and built on great admiration and love for each other. Regardless of the many lies in the movie and false portrayal of me to help carry a story line through, I will still continue to carry his legacy through my hard work and music."

And Voletta Wallace is not buying into Lil' Kim's cries of false representation. Her reply:

"This is not a Lil' Kim movie. This is a Christopher Wallace movie. It has nothing to do with Lil' Kim. If she's disappointed and upset, that is her problem."

I see Voletta Wallace isn't the fondest of Lil' Kim still.

In more Lil' Kim news, apparently her Facebook account was hacked, and she was not the person who made those nasty remarks about Naturi Naughton's performance of the rapper in the film. According to Lil' Kim's publicist, she had no problem with Naughton landing the role, and did not prefer having an Asian, or Christina Milian portray her in the film.

Regardles, Naturi Naughton had some pretty interesting words for Lil' Kim regarding the controversy. She stated the following in an interview with blackamericaweb.com:

"I don't really know if it was an Asian actress that Lil' Kim wanted. I haven't talked to her unfortunately. I haven't had that chemistry or that support, but my thing is I knew that I got this role because I worked for it and not because I'm Hollywood or someone gave it to me or even that I look exactly like her. It was the acting and the performance of the rapping. I worked really hard on transitioning from being a singer all my life to turning into a hip-hop rap artist and that wasn't easy. I don't know what she wanted from it. I never talked to her so I can't validate that, but all I can say is that I hope when she sees it, she sees that I tired my best to bring her to justice."

And I must concur, Naughton did an excellent job. I didn't think she would pull it off, but amazingly she did.

I just hope Lil' Kim will just let all of this go, you can't always change others' perceptions of you, nor should you care. I heard she's working on an album, and if true, she should just focus on that.

I think Lil' Kim just needs to shut up and let the past go. If she didn't want to be portrayed this way, she shouldn't have had such slutty lyrics. Don't cry a river now.

Was I the only one shocked when Naturi took all her clothes off? That was very uncomfortable moment. I was like, wow, the 3LW chick is naked. Weird.

If she wasn't a hoe, they would have made her so in the movie. Everybody in the industry knows how slutty Kim is.

Surprisingly, the movie was pretty good. I hope Aaliyah's will be just as good.

I'm tired of hearing about Lil' Kim's temper tantrums about this movie. Just make music Kim and get over it!

Like Big's mom said... the movie is about BIG not Kim, not Charli, Faith or anyone else.

Everyone was a backdrop.
Kim in my opinion was accurately depicted for the movie not being about her, how many minutes did she want them to spend on her?

She needs to get someone to write a movie about her if she wants more detail.

I think the actress that played her did a good job. She almost stole the show.

Good day Amanda!
