Christian Siriano isn't seeing a drop in sales due to the recession, unlike most fashion designers, he's actually seeing a huge surge in sales.
Siriano's sales have doubled since last season. Despite the enormous success of his shoe line that was exclusively sold at Payless, the increase in sales is more likely due to great price slashes and expanding his line into more locations.
Christian Siriano states:
“The good thing about my company is it’s really small and it’s growing, and we didn’t have to lay off a bunch of employees because I don’t have a bunch of employees. It’s crazy to think. You’re like, ‘Oh my God, you doubled sales in this economy?!’ But because last season was my first real season, my sales were small because I was so new. We had a handful of really good stores, and now this season we have ten great new stores.”
By the looks as some of Christian Siriano's latest collections and bold pieces, I'm not at all surprised by any of this.
