I cannot even begin to tell you how impatient the fashion industry grew waiting for the day that Michelle Obama would choose her Inauguration dress. The subject itself has been more of a hot topic than the state of our economy as of late, and even some of the most established fashion designers found themselves submitting sketches to the First Lady and were not at all above the fashion frenzy. Who hasn't been anxiously waiting to see Michelle Obama's Inauguration dress?
Michelle Obama didn't help the situation. She refused to tell the press what designer she had chosen and instead opted to choose the Inauguration dress the day of Inauguration. Even fashion designer Isabel Toledo didn't get a notification, and found out like the rest of us: the television.

Michelle Obama looked absolutely stunning in this dress designed by Isabel Toledo. This yellow sparkling gold sheath dress is simply stylish and it looked fabulous on her. Although I felt like the matching coat was a little bit much, the Inauguration dress itself was very impressive.
Isabel Toledo is a Cuban-born American designer who perfectly designed a dress that is a true testament of Michelle Obama's style.
The First Lady is known for picking bold pieces that include bold colors and even bolder accessories. So her choice in the dress designed by Isabel Toledo comes as no shock but very fashionable predictability.
Michelle Obama's pick of this Inauguration dress designed by Isabel Toledo was genius for a couple of reasons. For starters, she chose a young and up-and-coming fashion designer who was virtually unknown before yesterday. Secondly, she chose a dress that fits her style and didn't succumb to the traditional fashion rituals from previous First Ladies, such as picking high end and already established fashion designers. Lastly, she chose a designer who is Cuban-American. Perfect.
